Instructor Marcelino Centeno started BJJ and Judo training with Sensei Edson Carvalho in 2004. After training for many years in Kickboxing and the Filipino Martial Art Kali, he first saw it as a hobby. He quickly adapted and learned to love the Negewaza and Katamewaza aspects of Judo discipline.
Instructor Centeno believes that Judo is a great start for the kids overall development and he got involved in the kids program and instantly found his passion for teaching the children.
Instructor Centeno went to New York University. He also spent 12 years in the United States Army while stationed in Germany for 7 years. His wife Kelly teaches the Fitness Core classes at our dojo and their kid's Alexia, Christopher, and Olivia are also our wonderful students.
